  The projection of the greek diachronic cultural values and the collaboration with the Emigrant Hellenism is an objective of first priority for the GSGA.

This objective is fulfilled through large organizations, that give the possibility in the potential of emigrant artists and intellectuals to present their creative work in the country of reception.The homogeny is given also the possibility to come in contact with cultural influences that emanate from the Metropolis.

The cultural program usually includes theatre, ancient drama, lectures of music, reports, greek cinema weeks etc.

Particular emphasis is given to the projection of the emigrant artists' work. Their creativity is presented in plastic arts exhibitions, philological evenings of emigrant poets and men of letters, emigrants thetrical plays, traditional dancing groups, photography exhibitions, folklore art etc.

 

 

For the year 1997 there have been sceduled the following cultural events:

 

 

A. Australia

Australia is the first country of reception where the community, from 1986, organises in the big hearths of hellenism the GREEK CULTURAL MONTH.The events, with the name "ANTIPODES" are organised each March by the emigrants themselves, via the National Network of Greek-Australian Festivals, in collaboration with the GSGA.

In 1996, the GSGA supported the events with the musical group of N.Papazoglou ,and N.Panagiotopoulos, professor in the field of the athletic ideal, that gave lectures about the Olympic ideal.

The Greek festival of Australia Australia includes a large number of events that highlight the artistic work of emigrant artists.Among them are included:

  • Concerts of Emigrant Greek composers.
  • Concerts of Byzantine chorus.
  • Theatrical plays by several emigrants groups.
  • Exhibitions of plastic arts.
  • Greek cinema festival.
  • Congresses, meetings with subjects of social, educational and cultural interest.
  • Traditional dancing groups.

In this organisation the basic organizer is the Federation of Greek Festivals of Australia, in which participate representatives from all the big cities of Australia: Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Hobart, Brisbane.

The Festival is supported economically by the GSGA, the Australian Government and a large number of sponsors.

B. Russia
 

The GSGA makes efforts to support the Hellenism living in the cities of the Black Sea.

For the year 1997 is sceduling cultural events, for the first time in the central hearths of Hellenism (Stavroupoli, Essentouki, Krasnodar, Sotsi, Novorosisk). .

The program includes concerts, traditional dancing groups, photography exhibitions, recitals of classical song (Greek composers), theatre, lectures.
