Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis will be in Washington on Wednesday, 7 July 2010, for a series of meetings with his U.S. counterparts on bilateral economic and trade cooperation issues.

Particular emphasis will be put on the energy sector. For this reason, and following an initiative from Mr. Kouvelis, Deputy Energy Minister Yannis Maniatis will participate in the visit.

There will also be talks on bilateral trade, investments, exchange of know-how and general issues concerning joint business initiatives.

Finally, Mr. Kouvelis is to have a round of meetings with representatives of the Greek American community, with emphasis on the younger generation.
